Hoists

Hoists - a type of craenes, adapted to lift loads vertically, usually with a rope or chain using gripping elements, most often hooks. Devices of this type are used to move the load vertically. Constructively, they are usually adapted to either driving on a stationary track or are used in a stationary version, which ensures work in one place (without passing through); the supporting structure of the lifting mechanism is its housing.

Division of hoist

Due to the type of drive, the following types are distinguished among hoists

  • hand hoists,
  • electric hoists,
  • pneumatic hoists.

Hand hoists use a pulley gear ratio, worm gears, planetary gears to reduce the force necessary for lifting. Electric and pneumatic hoists, on the other hand, use motors and gearboxes as the drive unit.

The type of cable used allows the division of hoists into:

  • chain hoists,
  • rope hoists.

Winches

The winch is a crane adapted for vertical lifting of a load using a rope or chain using a gripping element, usually a hook. It is used to move loads vertically. Its design allows driving on a stationary track in a stationary version, which ensures work in one place (without the possibility of passing). The winch mechanism assembly is built on a separate supporting structure. Most often it is a fixed, mobile or sliding frame, which gives the possibility of transporting loads also horizontally.
